  • Distribution of Bike Safety Gear - Alaska Injury Prevention Center, with funding from the Municipality, provided bike lights (front and rear), bicycle helmets, reflective gear, and bike locks in 2009 to over 50 commuters. Most of the recipients were clients of local homeless shelters/rehabilitation centers, or of lower income.

  • AIPC Bike Commuters - Employees of AIPC have embraced bicycle commuting and blogging their experience to encourage others to ride bikes as a form of transportation. The intention is to make bikers more visible to motorists by increasing numbers of cyclists, role modeling cyclist visibility and abiding the rules of the road.

  • Bicycle Safety Presentations - Providing presentations in the schools on bike safety, providing helmets when funding permits, and providing bike safety information for groups to conduct their own bicycle safety presentations and events (see link below).

  • Kids Day 2010 - AIPC in partnership with SafeKids Alaska will distribute and fit bicycle helmets to children.

  • Bear Paw Festival - Eagle River, summer of 2010 – Bike Safety Booth partnered with State Farm.
